These are the ten initial briefs I came up with ideas for over the christmas break. These briefs are based on competition briefs and also elements of personal interest that relate to my practice. I need to narrow these briefs down to five main ones and i'd also like to have a couple of additional ones.

Geek Table: first meeting.
- The brief needs a point. It needs to be considered FMP not PPD
- The point could be an event, and then the deliverables would include the branding and adverts and other printed products for this.
- I suggested having a monthly brief that we all answer, a fun short brief that would take an afternoon. It would be a good break away from other FMP projects and would be interesting to see how we all responded to the same brief.
- We could start this already / after dissertation with the possibility of a show before the deadline
- We could potentially run a competition brief, maybe to encourage graphic designs in schools and colleges
- We need to set ourselves deadlines each week
- Need to totally agree on what the purpose of the event is. Is it to show our work or competition entries?
- How can we involve industry like Baljeet did with her previous project? We need to target professionals to help gain a network that we are all linked in.
- We should research other collectives and similar things such as Snap illustration, catalogue catch up and Form 55
- For next week we should have a think about what we all want to get out of this and what roles to take

BAGD yearbook proposal; Submission boards.
Final submission boards for the pitch designed by Claudia. The boards thoroughly explain our concept and ideas for the yearbook design.
BAGD yearbook proposal; Sophie's designs.
We used Sophie's inital ideas as the basis for our overall concept for the BAGD yearbook. This included the typeface she had utilised, as seen above. Sophie then went on to create the cover for the yearbook design and the CD case cover for the submission of this concept. The cover was laser cut by Sophie to add an element of quality to the overall design.
BAGD yearbook proposal; Kirsty's designs.
As part of our pitch for the BAGD yearbook we wanted to create something that we could send out to people in order to get them to come to the end of year show and promote us. Kirsty came up with this idea of an origami windmill that could fold out to reveal the relevent information. First of all Kirsty came up with the idea of having it multicoloured to suit the fact everyone would have their favourite colour within their profile page but then we came up with the idea that the windmills could be different colours so they are specific to each person based on what colour they chose for the yearbook. The center of the windmill is based on the style we have chosen for the cover of the yearbook so that everything works together.
Like myself, Kirsty also created a PDF personal page and a print version to show how each student page would work. The above image is an example of Kirsty's PDF version.
BAGD yearbook proposal; Photographs of printed products.
Once we were happy with the designs for some of the elements we've considered for the pitch we printed them out, mocked them up and decided to photograph them for the purpose of the submission boards. Credit to Sophie for her photography skills here.

BAGD yearbook proposal; Other outcomes - postcard.
I was also asked to put together a postcard that could be mailed out or given to prospective employees and industry professionals in order to direct them to a website with this graduating years FMP work on. The front of this design was the simplest part because I thought that if we use the front cover of the yearbook then this links everything together. We also decided to have a square postcard to link in with the yearbook itself. I then started playing around with layouts for the back of the postcard which needed to tell the audience who we were and the website they need to go and visit. I tried the idea of the bar that we have on the PDF version of the yearbook pages but this just doesn't seem to look right as theres too much space left. After coming up with different layouts I realised that the most effective thing to do would be to utilize the rest of the yearbook cover design and use the back that Sophie had designed so that everything continues to fit together.
This is what we've decided to go with, it's really simple but communicates exactly what it needs to.
